How we use AI
What the AI does with your photos, and its limits.

Pastlume uses an image-editing AI model, run by a third-party provider, to restore and colorize your photos. We instruct it to be conservative: keep faces, expressions, poses, clothing and composition, remove damage, and avoid a modern “retouched” look.
What it cannot do
- Know the real colors. Colorization is a plausible interpretation.
- Recover information that is truly lost. In heavily damaged areas it may guess details, including in faces.
- Guarantee a perfect likeness. That is why you always see the result before downloading, can zoom in, and can ask for a softer version.
What you see is what you get
You buy a number of photos first. For each photo, we generate the final file and make the preview from that file; unlocking that exact file takes one photo from your pack, then you can download it. If you don’t unlock a result, no photo is taken. If a result isn’t right, write to us and we redo it or refund that photo.
No face search
We do not identify people, search faces online, or use your photos for anything other than your restoration.
